WORDLESS WEDNESDAY – Madame Marilyn’s Mess

Madame Marilyn is the very peculiar owner of an antique shop on Rue Auguste Comte in Lyon, France. You can stand in front of her window for hours and have still not seen every single object. It seems like stuff has been just thrown in there, but there is a system to the madness. At least in Madame Marilyn’s eyes. The inside of her shop looks exactly the same. Piles and piles of silver and dolls and plates and cups and jewelry and glasses and pitchers. You can hardly turn around in there, and if you want to touch anything, Mdm. Marilyn will jump up from behind her counter and turn a bit defensive. No wonder, because the towers and piles will come tumbling down if you remove one single piece. Despite the seeming chaos, she knows exactly where each item is, and will show it to you with a mixture of suspicion and hesitation, as if she doesn’t trust you with her treasure.

If you like peculiar people and antiques, and are in Lyon, visit her shop! It is an experience you will not forget!
